Trail Clean Up Day – Saturday, April 23rd

Sidebar_PavedTrailIn recognition of Earth Day, the Friends of the Luce Line West  will be hosting a “Trail Clean Up Day” on Saturday, April 23rd from 9-12 to pick up the wind-blown trash from the winter.  The area of the Luce Line Trail to be worked on will be from County Rd 115 west of Hutchinson to the McLeod/Carver County line east of Winsted.

Bags, lightweight rubber gloves and bag pick up will be provided by the DNR.  Bags and gloves may be picked up at stations in Hutchinson, Silver Lake and Winsted.  Suggested areas for work will also be provided. Since ditches are still wet participants should wear boots and consider bringing a rake to help retrieve hard to reach material. Shop brooms to sweep gravel off of the pavement at township road intersections and trail ped. ramps would also be helpful.

For more information check the new Friends of the Luce Line Facebook page or call Steve Cook at 320-583-6282. The River of Hope Lutheran Church youth group will be cleaning the section of trail from Super America to Montana St. in Hutchinson on Sunday, April 24th.
